Part 1: Young company, but experienced team

Future Now LLC is a fairly young organization - what was the motivation behind its formation?
It's true, Mark, we only launched the company formally this past month, so most people haven't heard of us yet. However, my two partners and I have been involved in the Internet since the mid-1990's; we've worked on many e-commerce projects both individually and together, and we put the company in motion back in February.

We've spent the past 6 months not only assembling and refining all the resources necessary to serve our clients properly, but also proving our unique, patent-pending approach to e-sales. We've worked with four clients that came to us just by word of mouth because they were excited about what we were doing, and the "worst" we've done is double their sales. So we're not a typical start up.

Also, while our mission is to help dot-coms become successful, we're not a dot-com. We are an e-sales consultancy with deep roots and extensive experience doing business successfully in the real world. To understand the motivation behind creating Future Now, it helps to know that my two partners and I are experts in selling. We know what sells and what doesn't; we know how to sell and how not to. We know the art and we know the science. We also know that there is a big difference between marketing and sales, and we know how to marry the strengths of each. Bryan Eisenberg, my brother and one of my partners, is a true genius when it comes to e-commerce. As he observed how both B2C and B2B were struggling, and largely failing, he realized that the reason sites weren't selling better was because, in fact, they weren't "selling" at all. As my other partner, David Weltman, put it, "The Emperor has no...CLOSE!™.

We formed Future Now to knowledge engineer the expert selling process from the real world so it can be applied to the web, and then help e-businesses use that process to increase sales. We've done that, have a patent pending on the process, and have already proven it works. In fact, it works so well some people think we're exaggerating, until they try it and then smile all the way to the bank..

Given the industry's recruitment problems, how did you manage to pull together the Future Now team?
We started with several advantages. First, as I mentioned, Bryan, David and I already knew each other, had worked together in different contexts over several years, and knew, as well that we had perfectly complementary knowledge. We are all experts in e-sales, but behind that Bryan is our resident genius and web guru, I have a very strong background in business development, both domestic and international, and David has an exceptional background in general management and operations. So we were fortunate in having the core team already in place.

From there, we've attracted not only great team members but also an amazing group of advisors and even cheerleaders. When your message is as clear and timely, your mission as compelling, and your results as powerful as ours are, attracting quality people is not a problem.
